PEACE EARLY LEARNING CENTER

CLASSES - Infant.jpg

Infants 6 weeks – 12 months

Our goal is to create a home away from home by providing a safe and nurturing environment where babies can explore and make new discoveries. Our parents are encouraged to engage through our Procare app where we will communicate with you about your child’s daily activity as well as photos. Our infant classroom is exceptionally clean with all staff and parents required to wear shoe covers before entering the classroom.

Toddlers 1 year – 2 years

The toddler program is designed to allow children to explore, share, and learn. A sense of community is encouraged, and children are allowed to grow and develop in confidence and independence in a safe, secure environment. Children also learn to adapt to routines and daily rituals, and to cooperate with others through group activities. From their first steps to potty training, our teachers are right there to provide support in a fun and active environment. Our staff is committed to providing experiences for positive social interactions through play.

Preschool 3 years – 4 years

This program is designed to foster independence, individuality, problem-solving, creative expression, and creative thinking. Children learn to respect differences while working and playing cooperatively with others. The focus of the program is to encourage a positive self-image and allow opportunities for skill advancement in preparation for a successful VPK experience the next year. Upon entering our three-four classroom children must be potty-trained and developmentally ready for group experiences.

Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)

Our center participates in the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK). This free, state funded program provides 540 hours in an educational setting to all children who are four years old on or before September 1st. This educational program was created to prepare every four-year-old in Florida for kindergarten and build the foundation for their educational success. The VPK program offers each child an opportunity to perform better in school and throughout life by offering quality programs that include developmentally appropriate curriculum with a focus on early literacy skills, accountability, manageable class size, and increased teacher credentials.

A strong emphasis is placed on literacy, phonemic awareness, beginning writing skills, math, and science. We understand that each child is an individual progressing at their own rate (socially, intellectually, emotionally, and physically). Our classrooms consist of clearly defined, well-equipped interest centers. These centers invite children to observe, interact, make choices and experiment.
